Burnout Is Real
Burnout is real and can affect high-flying executives, dedicated professionals, office and industrial employees as well as home workers alike.
Burnout Red Flags
- Overwhelming exhaustion both mentally and physically
- Feelings of cynicism and loss of motivation
- A growing sense of ineffectiveness and blunted emotions
The onset of burnout is often slow, silent and if not addressed, as well as increased risk of mental and physical health conditions, can cause changes in brain anatomy and performance including:
- Impairing higher order executive functioning and decision-making
- Weakening emotional self-management and resilience
- Reduction in reward/satisfaction fulfilment
There Is Light…
Burnout is not only PREVENTABLE but those effected can make a FULL and HEALTHY recovery.
This can be achieved through increased organisational awareness and great support programmes, personal changes and action to avoid burnout onset, and for those affected, targeted, assisted personal regeneration programmes.
